I am an @aftelierperfume Certified Slow Scent® Natural Perfume Instructor!! #lifestyleceo #slowscent #perfume #perfumer Find out more here Share on XAbout the Slow Scent® Natural Perfume Instructor Certification Program
Created by world renowned artisan perfumer and author Mandy Aftel, the Slow Scent® Natural Perfume Instructor Certification Program is available only to students who have completed Mandy’s Introduction to Perfumery and and Level 2 Perfumery classes.
The Slow Scent Natural Perfume Certification signifies that Mandy herself has certified that I am proficient in several of the foundational practices of the skilled natural perfumer, and can now teach her Slow Scent Natural Perfume Basic Class where you will:
- Be introduced to and become familiar with 18 natural essences used in the practice of natural perfume
- Build your own natural perfume
- Receive my specific feedback and enjoy the feedback and community of your fellow perfume students
I have also previously trained with Jennifer Hardaway of Phoebe Peacock in Burbank, California, and Joan Morais of the Joan Morais Cosmetics School.
In addition to studying personally with Mandy, I have also had the benefit of learning within an inspiring community of perfumers from around the world who attend Mandy’s classes with me. Mandy’s training is also enhanced greatly by the fact that she offers it in partnership with her husband, Foster Curry. Mandy and Foster are a wonderful and inspiring team and I love learning from them.
Why I Became a Certified Slow Scent® Natural Perfume Instructor
Many years ago, I earned an aromatherapy certification from the Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy in San Rafael, California. For many years thereafter, I owned and managed the Maria Grace Aromatherapy and Bath Shop where I sold the signature Donna Maria Aromatics cosmetics brand. I taught soap and candle making making classes and led aromatherapy workshops in my store. I also hosted Aromatic Self-Empowerment Workshops at select Fresh Fields (now Whole Foods Market) locations in and around my hometown of Washington, DC.
Eventually, I closed my retail store and wound down the Donna Maria Aromatics brand in order to devote myself fully to raising my children and launching and leading the Indie Business Network, my entrepreneurial training and coaching company serving thousands of American Maker Entrepreneurs across North America.
Now that my children are grown, I am positioned to more fully combine my passions for aromatherapy, natural aromatics, product making, perfumery, and entrepreneurship. This has been my long-term plan from the very beginning, and I am very excited about it.
I’ll have a further update sharing how I can help you turn your passion for natural scent into a profitable business that makes you happy and successful and can generate income for life. Meanwhile, if you have any questions, contact me.
