Time to review the week with my Quarterly Goal Setting & Monthly Planning Sheets and a cup of Almond Maple Coffee At @stonetablenc.

Friday morning is the time frame I set aside to review the accomplishments of the past week and celebrate wins. It’s also when I assess challenges, how I met them, and how I plan to avoid them in the future.

This week, my biggest challenge was associated with setting a hard stop to my workday and getting to bed on time.

My biggest win was opening the first meeting of the new Maker Mastermind Business Incubator.

Well, son. You turned 16 a few hours ago, and all I can say — in addition to “Happy Birthday” — is WOW. 🎂 🎁 🎈 🥳

First of all, I know that you would be horrified if I said what I really wanted to say in this post, so out of respect for you, I will temper my sharing to help you feel loved and cherished, and not embarrassed, on Instagram.

While hundreds or even thousands of people may read this, this message really is for you; a public and short but heartfelt tribute to the nearly grown man that has changed my life in ways I could not ever have anticipated or imagined.

I am in awe of your soft heart, especially toward animals. ♥️

I am in awe of your determination and tenacity, which makes me crazy sometimes, but which I know will serve you well in life as you continue to learn to temper both of them to your advantage.

I am in awe of how you remember everything, even repeating phrases I said to you years ago not knowing I was sowing lifelong seeds that you would not forget.
.
I am in awe of the fact that you are 6'5" ... how could that happen when it seems like it was just yesterday that I was burping you and helping you learn how to walk.
.
What a miracle it is that I had anything to do with bringing you into this world. You are among the greater pieces of work I have ever contributed to, and I consider it an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to serve as your mother.

I love you son, and while this little note may make you cringe today, I assure you that in the not too distant future, you are likely to wish I had taken the time to write more.

WHAT ARE YOUR SUPER POWERS?

A few weeks ago, I treated myself to a meal at one of my favorite restaurants, @first.watch.
.
I was seated next to this gentleman and his wife. As I took my seat, I smiled and greeted them. Just, the usual, you know.
.
After I finished my meal, my server informed me that he had paid my bill.
.
I looked at him in astonishment, and thanked him. He told me that I had been so kind, open, and friendly, and he felt excited to do something nice for me.
.
We chatted for a few minutes. He introduced his wife and I told her how lucky she was. Of course, she already knew.
.
I snapped this picture of him while he was not looking because I did not want to be intrusive. I don’t remember his name and I hope he does not mind seeing this picture ... if he ever does.
.
How sweet is it to be recognized in this way, simply because you are being yourself. Thank you again, awesome guy. You made my day!
.
Friendliness is one of my super powers, and I feel blessed that it works so effortlessly in my favor.
