We spend a lot of time and energy trying to make our products and services stand out in the crowd. This is important, because anything that looks like everything is nothing.

You are the only you there is, or ever will be.

Take a look inside your heart, your psyche, and your general make-up and see what naturally makes you unique, and then emphasize that in your daily life as you lead your business.

This will draw attention not only to you, but also to the products and services you sell.

No one can take you away from you, so be you.

It's tempting to go the so-called "proven" route. It's appealing to do what others have done that actually worked. It feels less risky, and you think you may save yourself some time.

Both of those things may be close to the truth (sometimes), but what you lose when you follow in other people's footsteps is your innovative edge. You lose what makes you stand out. And that's a huge loss when it comes to entrepreneurship.
.
By putting the needle on the record, playing the same song everyone else is playing, you become a commodity. You look like white milk in flaky cereal, appearing fresh and delicious for 5 minutes, and afterward, just soggy and goopy and yuck.
.
Of course, look at what others are doing. That's how we learn. But once you gather up a bunch of ideas based on other people's experiences, get out there and chart your own course.
.
We don't need another one of what we already have.
.
We need you to be who you are, to give us a new experience ... to make us stand up and take notice ... to play a role that's never been played before -- the role of YOU!

Don't do what everyone else is doing. Do you.
