Water is essential for life. 💦

While I have heard of different studies recommending daily water intake based on things like weight and environment, I have settled on being satisfied with my water intake if my pee is colorless or very light yellow.
.
It’s just easier than reading yet another study or doing a calculation.
.
Few things are more refreshing on a hot June day than fresh water infused with 🍋 lemon 🥒 cucumber and ginger. (I love to add fresh 🍍 pineapple, but I don’t have any at the moment.)
.
Drinking cool fruit-infused water clears my head, refreshes my palette, and helps me take deep breaths. All of these things make me happier and healthier. It feels good.
.
It helps to put fruit and water in a clear glass pitcher, because, pretty to look at. The prettier it is, the more I drink!
.

I'm no expert on human evolution, but I've learned that evolution is risky, even dangerous.
.
Evolution is the process of growing from a simple to a more complex form. In the field of entrepreneurship, this means evolving from a simple-minded entrepreneur (or "newbie") to a sophisticated business leader. This is a good thing. But it's risky.
.
It's also dangerous -- at least to the part of our brain that is designed to protect us from risky situations. If we listen, this "lizard brain" (thanks, Seth Godin), will sabotage us in order to "protect" us from the risks of entrepreneurship:
.
• failure
• uncertainty
• embarrassment
• doubt
• fear
• competition
• being "less than"
.
You must resist lizard brain. The risks of giving in to lizard brain are soul-stealing devastation of laziness, stagnation and a mundane life.
.
Evolution is heavy lifting, but the benefits are worth it.
.
1. Evolution forces you to be picky, which sharpens your ability to manage time well.
2. Evolution forces you to grow, which trains you to maximize your potential.
3. Evolution forces you to finish, which empowers you to live your legacy.
.
There have been times in my life where I have allowed lizard brain to get the best of me, but those times are fewer and further between than ever before these days.
.
Bring on the risk. Bring on the danger. I'm ready. How about you?!

It’s Friday! For me, that means extra time to play my new favorite board game, Qwirkle. I love it because of the colors, which always make things more fun. I also enjoy a challenge now and then that is not directly related to having a great vocabulary or being good with numbers.

For what I think may be the first time in modern history, people are choosing entrepreneurship more for lifestyle reasons than for financial ones.
.
Both matter of course. But in my retreats and mastermind conversations with women today, the ability to set your own sail, chart your own course, and adjust both on your terms is more of an incentive than the financial rewards of entrepreneurship.
.
When I quit my traditional job as an attorney more than two decades ago, I had not heard of a single person who had traded the “security” of a “good corporate job” for the “uncertainty” of business ownership.
.
Was I afraid of the unknown?
.
Yes.
.
But I was even more afraid of the lifestyle I would have if I was not free to live without the constraints that are typically present in a traditional work environment.
.
Today, there are so many options. I am personally happy to see women from all walks of life choose business as a lifestyle for the freedom and flexibility it brings — and also for the increased financial opportunities that manifest themselves so beautifully as a part of the process.
.
